Missouri's MO HealthNet Division is accepting proposals for its next generation of statewide Medicaid managed care contracts, with a September 2 submission deadline. The new contracts — up to three General Plans and one Specialty Plan — will begin in 2027 and run for one year with four optional renewals. This is the procurement window that the Medicaid Food Security Network's new brief on embedding food security into MCO contracts was specifically designed to support. Getting FIM produce prescription and nutrition support language into Missouri's MCO requirements now shapes what gets covered for years to come.

How to Join
Access the RFP through the MO HealthNet Division. The MFSN's August 2026 brief 'Embedding Strategies to Address Food Insecurity in Medicaid Managed Care Contracts' provides model contract language across food insecurity screening, assistance and navigation, quality improvement, and health plan investments — directly applicable to Missouri's RFP response.
