The Senate Agriculture Committee marks up its updated Farm Bill proposal on Thursday, August 6 at 9:30 AM ET — and for FIM state officers, this is the session that sets the table for FY 2027. The revised nutrition title includes a one-year delay on SNAP benefit cost-sharing, pushing that clock to FY 2029. What it does not do: touch the SNAP administrative cost shift landing this October, which transfers billions in program costs to states whose budgets already fund produce prescription and medically tailored meal programs. Nearly 5 million people have already lost SNAP access since H.R. 1 passed. Thursday's markup is the next turn.
